The Shaama Centre provides services for women and seniors in the larger Edmonton area and community members shared their knowledge with the attendees through the event which was attended by Millwoods MLA Christina Gray and City Councillor Mohinder Banga.<\/p>\n<p>Cardiologist Dr Sajad Gulamhusein gave a presentation on women\u2019s heart health and Pharmacist Murtaza Hassanali spoke about the importance of medication adherence in the overall health of women. The presentations were followed by an interactive question and answer session where participants had a variety of health concerns addressed.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday the 6th of March, 2020, a local gathering of community members marked the birth anniversary of the late His Holiness Dr Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin\u00a0<sup>RA<\/sup>\u00a0as well as International Women\u2019s Day. The event, which was a commemoration of Syedna\u2019s many initiatives for women empowerment, commenced with a cake cutting ceremony, followed by photo-ops and henna application.<\/p>\n<p>Short profiles of successful community women were on display to motivate and encourage the younger generation to pursue their dreams.
